Mitsubishi Electric Incubates The Future Generation

With one hundred years of development (1921-2021), Mitsubishi Electric is one of the world's leading names in the manufacture and sales of electrical and electronics products and systems, contributing to society's sustainable development of green technology. Towards the Sustainable Goals Development (SGDs), Mitsubishi Electric Viet Nam (MEVN) created the "For a Greener Tomorrow" program to cultivate and enhance the young talented students in many different fields.

Besides MECA Cup (Mitsubishi Electric Automation Cup) – a competition for technical students to learn and experience the latest technology, MEVN also organizes diverse activities to facilitate practice opportunities for students

On 25th Jan 2021, MEVN has cooperated with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education (HCMUTE) to hold a seminar called "the intelligent industrial cameras' application in production." HCMUTE is well - known as a pioneer university in updating the latest automation technologies such as Image Processing, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI). At the seminar, Mitsubishi Electric introduced its products MELSENSOR - intelligent industrial camera, applied in automatic inspection, measurement, control and navigate for industrial robots. The seminar attracted more than 100 students of the automation industry major who want to practice with the latest image processing technologies.

Nowadays, for product quality control: automatic inspection, surface check, measurement, scan code, etc., are playing an essential role in factory automation. "This seminar is a good opportunity for students to understand and practice the image processing before graduation." Associate Professor Ph.D. Le My Ha said – Vice President of Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, HCMUTE.

Nguyen Minh Quan, the final year student in Control Engineering and Automation major, shared excitedly: "Our school often organizes seminars to update the latest knowledge. However, this is the first time I have participated in a seminar with high applicability. Besides being introduced to useful knowledge, we also can practice on software and products. This helps us get a realistic view, not just theory. Mitsubishi Electric's software is pre-programmed, so it is easy to apply, especially for students like us. As an engineering student, I hope MEVN will come back with more useful activities."

For Mitsubishi Electric Vietnam, training and inspiring the younger generation is one of the company's top priority tasks towards a greener tomorrow. The company is continuously striving to create a complete, modern, and practical educational environment for Viet Nam future generation.

2021 marks 10 years establishment anniversary in Vietnam and 100 years globally. Mitsubishi Electric will continue to innovate for the next 100 years of sustainable development.

ABOUT CAMERA MELSENSOR

Camera MELSENSOR possesses many outstanding advantages. MELSENSOR can be used for automatic inspection, surface check, measurement, identification. Thanks to compact design and Power Over Ethernet (PoE) function equipped reduced wiring stand-alone vision sensor, it is ideal for mounting on robot hands.

Besides, with a speed of 217 frames/s, the camera MELSENSOR can check fast and accurately. Products are used in many industries, such as FMCG, food and beverage, automation, electrical, pharmaceutical and medical equipment, printing and packaging, robotics, etc. Moreover, ease-of-use software is designed to be easy to deploy and operate, so compared to other vision systems, the user don’t need to hire a programmer to write the complicated code for the application. Graphic User Interface (GUI) design allows users to interact with MELSENSOR Camera through visual icons instead of a coding interface.
