In 2021, the Sustainability Initiative was first organized by Mitsubishi Electric Vietnam with the desire to improve knowledge and soft skills, and bring opportunities to promote talents for students studying in Heat and Refrigeration majors. Ho Chi Minh City Regional University. The contest is the place to start up new ideas, contribute more to the Heat and Refrigeration industry, towards a Green solution for the building.

Under the guidance of expert lecturers and enthusiastic research, 8 teams brought up 8 highly applicable and creative topics. Let's take a look at some extremely useful ideas from the 2021 Sustainability Initiative warriors.

With the topic: "Designing air conditioners for office building Z and analyzing and evaluating solutions applied to buildings according to Singapore's BCA Green Mark green standard, the QQnD team from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology has won the overall first prize and the creative prize of the competition. The research project on applying virtual reality technology to the development of air conditioning systems for buildings helped cut costs by 27% operating cost per year, which saves about 900 million VND.

QQnD Team won the first prize and the creative prize of the Sustainability Initiative: Pioneering Total Solution for Green Building 2021

The highlight of the topic is the use of waste heat recovery devices, heat exchanger technology refreshes the air in the room without changing the existing temperature and humidity – an application from Lossnay products from Mitsubishi Electric. In addition, QQnD also proposed the use of equipment with advanced technology in the field of air conditioning of Mitsubishi Electric such as magnetic-buffer chiller line and combined with evaluation and analysis of economic and technical factors for investors to easily consider the feasibility of the project. This helps to maximize the energy savings in the building.

The two teams that won the second prize were BKAC (on the left) with the theme "Application of green solutions in the design of air conditioning systems for Van Hanh Mall" from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and The topic "Application of green solutions for the air conditioning system of GoldLand Plaza commercial center"  from the University of Industry team (on the right).

The 02 third prize respectively belong to the University of Industry with the topic "Application of green solutions for the Festival hotel air-conditioning system" (on the right) and the competition team from the University of Technical Education with the topic “Energy saving solutions from the combined fresh air supply system to limit the spread of COVID-19 for the HVAC system of the office building.” (on the left)

Three Extra prizes belong to 2 teams from the University of Agriculture and Forestry and 1 team from the University of Technical Education with the respective topics: “Renovating the air-conditioning system of Thien Ly building, comparing the benefits energy and economy”; “Proposing a new design option for the ETown 5 building air conditioning system”; “Renovating the air conditioning system of Thien Ly building, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry.”

Diverse topics, analyzed from the perspective of future Heat and Refrigeration engineers. Mitsubishi Electric believes that, with the companionship of nurturing young talents of the Heat and Refrigeration industry right from the time they are still in school, the industry promises to continue to develop further.

Nowadays, the worldwide Green Revolution is being shown. Green and advanced solutions are the keys to innovation, reducing the impact of climate change, creating a clean & safe space from inside and outside.
